Hugh Christopher Brown and Kate Fenner's musical journey began in their teenage years with the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir. Over the decades, their paths have intertwined through solo projects and collaborations in New York City. Their impressive careers have seen them recording and touring with legendary artists like BB King, The Tragically Hip, Crash Test Dummies, Barenaked Ladies, Tom Jones, DJ Logiic, and Joan as Police Woman. Their collaboration has produced timeless music that continues to captivate audiences.
Their latest releases, Dead Reckoning and Pacem 2, add fresh depth to their already rich repertoire. Spanning four decades, their music combines lyrical poetry with soulful melodies, creating an immersive experience for listeners. Fenner's recent performances at MoMA during the Joan Jonas retrospective and Brown's establishment of Hotel Wolfe Island highlight their ongoing contributions to the arts, cultural work, and social justice.
For this special performance at Motel Chelsea, Brown and Fenner will be joined by drummer Liam Cole. This trio promises to deliver an unforgettable night of music.
