Winter in Chelsea just keeps getting better! Writing about snow conditions each week has been a pleasure, and with fresh snowfall over the past few days, things are shaping up beautifully for outdoor enthusiasts. Today was simply spectacular in Gatineau Park and at Camp Fortune, with ideal temperatures and fantastic snow coverage. Hopefully, everyone has had a chance to get outside and enjoy it! Here's a breakdown of what to expect this weekend and beyond.

Chelsea, Quebec, has always been a haven for winter enthusiasts. It’s no wonder that families like ours chose to settle here, drawn by the magnetic pull of the snow-covered trails of Gatineau Park and the thrill of skiing at Camp Fortune. The story of skiing in this region, however, runs much deeper than the snow we carve today. It’s a tale of grit, passion, and community, embodied by a group of trailblazing volunteers known as the Night Riders. Their dedication not only shaped the winter landscape we enjoy but also set the tone for a community deeply rooted in skiing traditions.

Gatineau Park’s summer camping season is just around the corner, and outdoor lovers won’t want to miss out. Reservations officially open on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 9 a.m., and spots tend to fill up fast.
