Winter in Chelsea just keeps getting better! Writing about snow conditions each week has been a pleasure, and with fresh snowfall over the past few days, things are shaping up beautifully for outdoor enthusiasts. Today was simply spectacular in Gatineau Park and at Camp Fortune, with ideal temperatures and fantastic snow coverage. Hopefully, everyone has had a chance to get outside and enjoy it! Here's a breakdown of what to expect this weekend and beyond.

Camp Fortune is in top form, offering excellent ski conditions across nearly all of its terrain. With 23 runs open and 99% of the mountain available, it's a prime weekend for hitting the slopes. The Valley area is fully operational with two quad lifts, one triple lift, two magic carpets, and a T-bar, along with a full-service lodge offering rentals, a cafeteria, and a ski shop. Skyline is primed for action, with its quad lift servicing intermediate to expert runs, while Meech provides access to two intermediate trails, with Paradise in great shape and North American running on marginal natural snow conditions. The learning center remains open daily, making it a great spot for beginners. For those looking for an off-piste adventure, the glades are covered in natural snow but should be navigated with caution. And the big news—Swan Dive is open!

Gatineau Park is a winter paradise right now, with most trails in excellent shape for both classic and skate skiing. Trail 22 remains closed due to falling ice risks from the tower's stabilizing cables, but aside from that, conditions are stellar. Snow temperatures are holding around -4°C, and an impressive 95% of groomed trails and 87% of backcountry trails are recommended. The best starting points include P1 through P12, as well as P16, P17, and P19. The recommended wax for the weekend is Blue Extra. Recent snowfall has added 5-10 cm to the base, with P8 measuring at 18 cm and Fortune Lake Parkway and Trail 1 at 28 cm.

Voie Verte Chelsea, the beloved community trail, is looking great, especially for classic cross-country skiing. The track is in good condition, while the skating track is holding up reasonably well, with the best conditions found near Farm Point. With an abundance of snow covering the landscape, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking.
