Bradley’s path to art began while undergoing treatment for post-traumatic stress injury. Introduced to art therapy, he discovered that painting offered a profound sense of healing and mindfulness. With a Fine Arts Diploma from the Ottawa School of Art, Bradley has honed his craft into a compelling blend of technical skill and emotional depth. His process involves a meticulous layering of oil paint, starting with loose charcoal sketches and building depth and texture over weeks—or even months.
A signature element of Bradley’s work is his focus on the eyes. In his compositions, the eyes of animals command attention, inviting viewers into a moment of tension and awareness. This “flight or fight” intensity is both a reflection of the animal’s perspective and a window into Bradley’s own exploration of stress and resilience. Through these vibrant and haunting portraits, he offers a dialogue between the natural world and human emotion.
The show opens with a vernissage on Saturday, November 9, from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m., where visitors can meet Bradley and delve deeper into his artistic vision. The exhibition promises to captivate both art enthusiasts and newcomers alike, showcasing the therapeutic power of creativity and the unique beauty of Bradley’s perspective.
