Hello, outdoor enthusiasts! Are you ready for some exciting news? Get your camping gear ready because Gatineau Park's summer camping reservations are opening on March 15, 2024, at 9 am! Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to the wilderness, Gatineau Park offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Embrace Nature at Gatineau Park

Picture this: You, surrounded by lush greenery, the soothing sounds of nature, and endless possibilities for adventure. That's exactly what awaits you at Gatineau Park, just a stone's throw away from downtown Ottawa-Gatineau. With its vast trail network, shimmering lakes, and abundant wildlife, Gatineau Park is your gateway to outdoor bliss, no matter the season.

What to Expect in the 2024 Season

Mark your calendars because the 2024 camping season at Gatineau Park runs from May 17 to October 14! This year, due to the Philippe Lake rehabilitation project, only canoe-camping at La Pêche Lake will be available. Unfortunately, campsites and ready-to-camp facilities at Philippe, Renaud, and Taylor lakes won't be accessible. But fret not, as we're gearing up to reopen these sites with a fresh new look in the summer of 2025.

Exciting Changes at Philippe Lake Campground

Are you curious about the Philippe Lake rehabilitation project? Well, you're in for a treat! We're giving the Philippe Lake campground a well-deserved makeover to provide you with better infrastructures and modern facilities. From new ready-to-camp units to improved safety measures and accessibility, we're committed to enhancing your camping experience while minimizing our environmental footprint.

The Latest on the Project

We've been hard at work in partnership with Algonquin College to bring you some exciting improvements. In the summer of 2023, students collaborated on constructing new ready-to-camp units using innovative materials like straw and clay. These eco-friendly units not only provide a cozy retreat but also help reduce energy consumption, making your camping experience even more sustainable.

Impact and Planned Improvements

While we're busy making these upgrades, please note that certain areas of the campground will be inaccessible from spring to fall 2024. This includes campsites and ready-to-camp units in the Philippe, Taylor, and Renaud lake sectors. However, camping at La Pêche Lake remains unaffected, so you can still enjoy the great outdoors to your heart's content.

Looking ahead, we're excited to unveil a host of improvements, including new amenities like an amphitheater, multi-use pavilion, and animal-proof food lockers. Plus, renovations to existing buildings and improved signage will make navigating the campground a breeze. We can't wait for you to experience the new and improved Philippe Lake campground in summer 2025!

Book Your Adventure Today

So what are you waiting for? Gather your friends and family, pack your camping essentials, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in Gatineau Park. Remember, reservations open on March 15, 2024, at 9 am sharp. Don't miss out on your chance to find your happy place in nature's embrace!
