Dec 23 - Lifting of the precautionary boil water advisory on the entire municipal aqueduct system
Please note that you may notice a slight decrease in water pressure and cloudy water coming out of your taps. This is due to maintenance work that Chelsea Municipality is carrying out to ensure that your water supply is working properly and safely.
For your safety, the municipality advises that you boil your water for at least one minute before using it until you receive the all-clear. It is recommended to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, and even for your pets. Anything prepared with tap water after the advisory should not be used.
You may be wondering why this advisory is necessary. Sometimes, when maintenance work is required or there is an issue, the municipality issues this advisory as a safety precaution. It's not always because the water is contaminated, but more like a double-check to ensure everything is okay.
The municipality will keep you informed via email and their municipal platforms as soon as the situation is resolved. For the safety of your children, pets, and vegetables, it is recommended to continue using boiled and cooled water until you receive the all-clear.
If you need more information or have any questions, please contact Chelsea Municipality at 819 827-1160. Remember to stay safe and hydrated by boiling your water until you receive the go-ahead from the municipality.
